About
Luke Geiger LCSW, CSAC
Personally: I am married and have two little girls. I am a Wisconsin native, nerd, and outdoorsman. I enjoy black coffee, board games, fishing, reading, camping, and gardening among other hobbies.

Professional Interests: My primary interest is working with adults to navigate grief, sadness, confusion, fear, uncertainty, addiction, a sense of being stuck, other unpleasant thoughts and emotions, creating healthy relationships, impulse control, making important life decisions, as well as general men's and women's issues.

Telos Counseling: Telos is often defined as "fulfillment" and is derived from the word "teleology," which was the belief in ancient Greece that every person and object in existence had a purpose. I have found through my years as a psychotherapist and human being that people search for purpose, whether as a reason to live, a way to connect the past to the present, or find direction. The inspiration for Telos Counseling was to help people create and discover what it is they need.

Experience
My Path
I began providing addiction therapy in 2015 during my time in graduate school at a non-profit in Milwaukee, WI. Later in 2017 after my family and I moved to Rhinelander, WI, I began practicing psychotherapy and addiction treatment with the Forest County Potawatomi Tribe. a few years later we moved to La Crosse to enable my wife to pursue an educational opportunity. While living in La Crosse from 2019 to 2022 I worked for the Veterans Administration (VA) providing psychotherapy and addiction treatment to veterans. My family and I seem to move often, which inspired me to open this telehealth private practice in 2023.
